DENNIS CLONTZ: As a playwright, Dennis Clontz has received over 50 productions nationwide. His play, Generations, (produced at the Colony Studio Theater) was named one of the best three new plays of 1990 by the American Drama Critics Association along with August Wilson's The Piano Lesson and Richard Dresser's The Downside. Other Los Angeles productions of his plays, which have garnered him 3 Drama-Logue Playwriting Awards, include Night Breath (which won 13 Drama-Logue Awards), Interfusions, Fire/Photograph, American Play and A Match Made in Heaven. He is the recipient of over a dozen national writing awards including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Nicholl Fellowship. He received his MFA in Playwriting from UCLA. He was part of a team that won a 1994 Pulitzer Prize for on the spot reporting about the Northridge earthquake that struck that year.
